Here are the best hidden beaches less than an hour's drive from Clydebank you can visit this weekend.

Boden Boo and Erskine Beach

Situated underneath the Erskine Bridge on the other side of the Clyde, the beach is very easy to get to from town.

One visitor took to Google Reviews to write: "Great wee find, lovely beach and forest Park, great to take kids and great for the dogs."

"Google maps doesn't take you there. When you come off the bridge take the Erskine slip and follow that until you see a turn off for boden boo. At the end of that Rd is the beach."

Rhu Point

Popular with kayakers and sightseers looking to explore the Rhu and Shandon Church, Rhu Point is a small beach well-known for its lighthouse which juts out into Gare Loch.

One visitor said: "Beautiful viewpoint when low tide. Popular fishing spot and best place to watch any of the navy ships coming in and out of Faslane."

Another added: "You can walk out to the lighthouse, with stunning views up the Clyde and down to Faslane, the military base."
