The Crystal Maze is rumoured to be returning to our screens – with David Tennant as the host.
The classic game show will be rebooted with a celebrity special next month, 21 years after it was last on, reported The Sun.
And TV bosses apparently want former Doctor Who star David to take over the position formerly filled by Richard O’Brien and Ed Tudor-Pole.
A source said the series – which sees contestants taking on challenges in order to win “time crystals” – is still “remembered extremely fondly”.
“Channel 4 are hoping to tap into that nostalgia and believe viewers will jump at the chance to finally take on the show’s adventurous challenges themselves,” added the insider.
If the special goes down well, a full series is expected to follow.
On Twitter, fans of the problem-solving show, which ran from 1990 to 1995, are getting rather excited about the prospect of its return.

The crystal maze will only work with a really good presenter but @David_Tennant seems a really great choice

Used to love it with Richard O'Brien, but Tennant should be good. https://t.co/wbWuJ9ijSs
