A FIRST half hat-trick by Shaun Hardie sent Stow to the top of Division A.

Hardie struck three times in a 5-1 win over Hawick Waverley which sees Stow make it three wins from three games.

Paul Young and Callum Gass added second half goals to leave Waverley winless.

Daniel Pattenden and ex-Berwick Rangers man Alan Jess secured Chirnside United a 2-1 win over Tweedmouth Amateurs at Comrades Park to leave the Berwickshire side second in the table.

West Barns Star won 4-1 over pointless Gordon while Daniel Chandler and Nathan Gillie were on the scoresheet as Jed Legion got their season up and running with a 3-0 win over Langholm Legion.

Newtown and Hawick United remain joint top of Division B. Scott Nightingale, David Paterson and Scott Leitch scored for Newtown in a 3-2 win over Biggar United, while Kevin Strathdee claimed a hat-trick as United thumped Linton Hotspur 5-1.

A Craig Pinnons double saw Earlston Rhymers edge a goalfest at Runciman Park, as the Rhymers won 4-3 over Leithen Rovers.

Kelso Thistle claimed their first win of season with a 3-2 over Hawick Legion but Gala Hotspur remain without a point after a 6-1 hammering by Coldstream Amateurs as Jordan Lauder scored four.

In Division C there were wins for Duns Amateurs, Kelso Amateurs and Lauder.
